POLICIES, PROCEDURES, & GUIDELINES:

Before participating, participants should review the SCGA’s Policies & Procedures.

 

STRACKALINE YARDAGE BOOK:

The SCGA and StrackaLine have teamed up to allow our participants the opportunity to purchase StrackaLine Yardage & Green booklets at a 20% discount. Click here to purchase your StrackaLine Booklet. All booklets conform to the Rules of Golf and may be used in tournament play.

 

FORMAT:

  • All players will participate in a 36-hole stroke-play championship (18 holes each day)
  • Championship contestants will compete amongst their gender and within their impairment sport class category.
  • During the championship, amateur players will use their Handicap Index as of May 14 and will receive 95% of their Course Handicap (unless otherwise noted by the SCGA).
  • An overall Low Net Champion will be awarded for men and women.
  • An overall Low Gross Champion will be awarded within each impairment sport class category.
  • Participants in this championship will receive a USAGA Ranking for Adaptive Golfers.

 

REGISTRATION:

All players are to check in with the SCGA near the cart staging area to receive their player gift and to acknowledge that they are on the property at the championship.

 

PRACTICE ROUNDS:

  • Players may plan for a practice round at their own expense. Goose Creek is a public facility. To book a practice round, call the Golf Shop at (951) 735-3982. Identify yourself as a participant in the Adaptive Championship.
  • Green Fee: $80, including cart, after 12:30 pm.
  • Practice rounds are a privilege, not a right. The SCGA works with a variety of facilities throughout the course of the year, all of which have unique policies and procedures when it comes to practice rounds. These opportunities will be provided at the sole discretion of the host facility.
  • We are guests and must follow all facility policies and guidelines when on the property. Behavior during practice rounds will be subject to the SCGA Code of Conduct.

 

STARTING TIMES AND PAIRINGS: 

  • Starting times and pairings will be emailed to players and posted online at scga.org one week before the championship.  
  • Round 1 starting times: 7:30 a.m. – 9:30 a.m., all off the 1st tee.
  • Round 2 starting times: 7:30 a.m. – 9:30 a.m,. all off the 1st tee.
  • Lead groups should plan to be at their assigned tee 10 minutes before their starting time. Subsequent groups are encouraged to arrive once the preceding group has teed off. Players arriving late will be penalized under Rule 5.3a of the Rules of Golf. For example, the 9:00 a.m. starting time is defined as 9:00:00, and players arriving after that time are considered late.

 

TEES & YARDAGE:   

All yardages and course information for each sport category can be found in the Yardage Information tab located on the Championship Portal.

 

DRIVING RANGE:

  • The driving range will be available by 6:30 a.m. each morning of the championship. 
  • Range balls will be provided compliments of Goose Creek GC and the SCGA.

 

FOOD SERVICE & PURCHASES:

  • The Snack Bar will be open at 6:30 a.m. each day of the championship.
  • All championship participants will be provided lunch after their round on both days of the championship.
  • Caddies and spectators may make purchases from the snack bar inside the clubhouse.
  • Cash and credit cards will be accepted for all other F&B purchases and in the Golf Shop.

 

RULES OF PLAY:

 

GOLF CARTS, PULL/PUSH CARTS:

  • Golf carts are included for all players participating in the championship; however, players who are able and willing to walk may do so. 
  • There will be a maximum of three carts per group and two bags per cart. Players wishing to ride may be asked to share a cart with another player.
  • Each player is entitled to one seat in a cart. If a player brings an aide and/or caddie, the aide and/or caddie may ride, provided there is a vacant seat in one of the carts. Otherwise, if all seats are utilized, the person must walk.
  • Drivers must be at least 16 years of age (or older if club policy dictates).
  • Pull or push carts are permitted.  

 

AIDES, CADDIES & SPECTATORS:

  • Players may provide their own aide, and/or caddie (see the section on golf carts).
  • Spectators are permitted but are not allowed in carts. Spectators must adhere to all policies set forth by the facility.
  • ADA requests for spectator carts will be honored, otherwise, all spectators must walk.

 

DRESS CODE:

Appropriate golf attire must be worn, including adhering to any facility-specific policies.

 

CANCELATIONS & REFUNDS:

  • To withdraw for any reason before the start of an SCGA competition, a player must notify the SCGA Championships & Golf Operations Department at champs@scga.org.
  • Failure to notify the SCGA will subject the player to suspension from future SCGA competitions.
    • Refund Policy:
      • Cancelation before the entry closing date: Full refund less a $20 administrative fee.
      • Cancelation after the entry closing date and more than 48 hours before the start of the competition: 50% of the entry fee.
      • Cancelation within 48 hours of the start of the competition: No refund.
